Please refer to the response from Kirby Shealy regarding the selection of board members at Thompson’s (York Place’s parent company). With Kirby’s permission you can send this to the delegates and clergy of your convocation.

Thank you so much Patricia.

The way board members are elected to Thompson’s (York Place’s parent company) board is different than the way folks were elected to York Place’s board.  That being said, every effort is being made to make sure there is representation on the board from all of the dioceses in North and South Carolina.  The board consists of 20-24 trustees, two of whom are elected by “regional councils” that operate in South and North Carolina.  Between one and three “senior trustees” must have demonstrated “a knowledge of and appreciation for the history, mission, philosophy, and close relationship between the Christian church as practiced in the Episcopal tradition and the Corporation.”

Two new members of the board were recently elected from EDUSC: Joe Fennell from Greenwood and Karen Ellison from York.
