Switching from Color to Grayscale and back

Hey Crew, Somehow I am having troubles activating the grayscale mode.

What I am trying to achieve is that if I hit a button on the controller Lightroom converts the selected photo(s) to black and white and enables the B&W Mix sliders.

I am doing this by triggering following Series of Commands: ConvertToGrayscale,RevealPanelMixer,profile7

Where profile 7 will then contain the settings to manipulate the B&W sliders using the rotary knobs.

But that didn't work. It's not converting the photo(s) to B&W and it's not enabling the B&W sliders.

Because that did not work I tried to assign following commands directly to buttons:

- Assigning "Convert to Grayscale" to a button

- Assigning "Quick develop Set treatment B&W"

Both of them do not switch to the grayscale mode.

I must be missing something here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is with LR 8.3.1, Midi2LR 3.2.3.0 on Wondows 10 Pro

So, I guess I figured it out. The command "Convert to Grayscale" is not actually converting the photo(s) to grayscale.

I set up a fresh set of profiles and settings and simply assigned "Convert to Grayscale" to a button and it does nothing, zero, nilch... Using "SetTreatmentBW" does the job.

I had to adjust my command from "ConvertToGrayscale,RevealPanelMixer,profile7" to "RevealPanelMixer,SetTreatmentBW,profile7" and that works.

In return if I want to go back to color and adjust colors, the command looks like this "RevealPanelMixer,SetTreatmentColor,profile3"

Could someone explain what "Convert To Grayscale" is there for? Otherwise feel free to mark the topic as solved.

Convert to grayscale enables or disables the grayscale conversion if a conversion has already been done using the Develop controls. I haven't tried combining the SetTreatmentBW (which is a quick develop treatment, not part of the Lightroom Develop module) with it to see it convert to grayscale also undoes the set treatment bw.
