I just had started with MIDI2LR and currently doing a mapping for X-Touch Mini with LR6.6 on Windows. I need to assign some LR keyboard shortcuts which trigger commands not listed in the UI. I though "Keyboard Shortcuts for User" is the right thing for this. But then the question is how and where to set an actual shortcut to, lets say, "Key 1". I think, I got stuck now. I now started to read the code, but then thought, I better ask first since the answer might be simple...

Thanks!

See the wiki https://github.com/rsjaffe/MIDI2LR/wiki/Plugin-Options-Dialog#keyboard-shortcuts . It has the instructions. I know it should be rewritten to be clearer--if you (or anyone else) wants to take a crack at rewriting it, please post suggestions to this group

Set the key mapping in Lightroom using File > Plug-in Extras > MIDI2LR > Options > Other

Excellent! Thanks a lot for a very quick response! I apparently got lost in options, since I have over dozen of plugins installed! ;-)

Hi DMVpix,

Quick question buddy,

I'm managing to get to the options screen for midi2lr under plug in option other, however if I want for instance to assign a short cut key like edit in Photoshop for Windows am I right in thinking I tick the boxes? For instance the shortcut for this action would be Ctrl E so would I simply tick the Ctrl and enter E in the empty first box? I have tried this but it still doesn't open? Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance.

Make it Ctrl and e. If you put in a capital E, the program recognizes that a shift key was used, and adds that to the command.

Is it possible t have, say, just the alt key as a shortcut? I'm working without a keyboard and that would be incredibly helpful, though it doesn't seem to let me do it! Thanks!

The current program doesn't hold down keys--it just presses and releases them. You want an alt down action and an alt up action? What does that do for you?
