Alesis DM8 help needed

My son has a Alesis DM8 drum set and of course it has no MIDI out except for a usb "B" has anyone come across this? and if you have could you help us with getting him all setup to start enjoying the MIDI rocker we got him for RB/GHWT.
Would greatly appreciate and help/weblinks you can offer me.
