I want to use midirocker LX as a general midi to usb adapter, for the 10-50ms duration function.
I want midi rocker to pass all midi information form my Alesis Controlpad, to my laptop, with the addition of note duration, as the only modification to the signal.

Alesis controlpad has a usb output which works great, but the note lengths are too short to be useful in some areas of my music software. they are less than 10ms

The problem is there isn't a simple MIDI note "duration" value -- the drum sends a NOTE ON packet and then a NOTE OFF packet, and the duration is simply the time between the two packets. (On the MIDI Rocker, there is a "note duration" setting, but that is a little different as it controls how long a "button press" event is sent to the console). A possible solution would be to have the MIDI Rocker (in MIDI adapter mode) ignore the NOTE OFF packets and just always send a NOTE OFF 50ms after any NOTE ON is received.

God, that sounds fine. Is it hard to configure.? So that every drumhead will be 50 milliseconds, with no other changes.

    Thanks for your reply!
I see the "duration" setting in the windows software, but I do not see the second part you are talking about.  How is this configured?

    Thanks for your reply.

I see the "duration" setting, but I am unsure of how to configure the note off as you describe.

It will require a special modification to the firmware (the USB/MIDI adapter version of the firmware, that is). I'll give it try in the next few days and let you know if it works or not.

Any luck Scott? I'd be very interested in this, as well as others using midi drum pads with various music production software like Abelton that have issues with the very short messages from many midi drum pads products. "On" duration may work as well, maybe I should just try it myself. But I do know a duration of about 60 ms before note off message works well with my application.
