Hi,

You may have seen my other post on having unwanted hits register when
closing the HH with the VH12. No amount of tuning (or tweaking
parameters in the module) would really work.

Here's the solution I ended up going for:
- Buy an FD-8 (I bought a used one on Craigslist for $50).
- Duplicate your favorite trigger bank so you can make changes that
are RB3-only to a new bank.
- In the (new) RB3 Trigger Bank, set the HH to VH11-FD.

When playing RB3:
- hook up the FD8 to the HH CTRL input of the module (that's what you
will use as HH pedal)
- open the VH12 clutch such that the 2 cymbals are in the closed
position (much like when you calibrate the HH), then close the clutch
again to make sure they remain stuck to each other
- turn on your module and select the RB3 trigger bank

That's it!

Cheers,

Shame you had to spend more money to get it to work, but here's 2 more
suggestions:

1) plug the VH 12 in normally. Then in HH settings (with the rocker
gui open or RB on - so you can see the results), crank the offset down
(in HH settings of the brain - assuming your on a TD20). Worked great
for me in the beginning of using the Midi LX. Basically this minimizes
your open/closed threshold. Months later after many tweaks on the
brain, I got my offset back to where I want it without the double hits
(yellow and blue together). If your getting hits on physical closing,
then change the footsplash midi note number and turn footsplash to 0
in the HH settings tab. Offset work for this as well.

2) with your PD8, you can plug into the AUX jack (keeping your HH ctrl
plugged in normally) and use that as a HH sound and program the Midi
LX to blue cymbal. That way you still have normal functions of the
HH.

I guessing since you have a VH12 your on a TD20 with extra inputs.

Just throwing some suggestions out there. Either way your working now.

Just read the other post, you are on a TD20, just with the original
Rocker not the LX.
