Activist Radio's Fantasyland Media:

Each week, we cover the stories that are just left out of the US propaganda machine. News that the people in charge, the corporations and your government want to keep from the public eye.

Common Dreams:
"Human rights defenders are calling out Western news outlets and political leaders for their conspicuous lack of coverage and vocalized condemnation after leaked video footage appeared to show Israeli soldiers gang-raping a Palestinian detainee in the notorious Sde Teiman prison and the release of a new report documenting systematic torture of prisoners held by Israel.

Earlier this week, Israel's Channel 12 aired a video showing Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reservists assaulting a Palestinian man at Sde Teiman, which is often called 'Israel's Guantánamo.' The victim was reportedly hospitalized with a severe anal injury, ruptured bowel, broken ribs, and lung damage. In addition to torture, former Sde Teiman detainees have described rampant rape and sexual abuse, allegedly often committed by female soldiers.
Instead of avoiding the Sde Teiman rape story, Israeli media have aired an interview with one of the IDF suspects—who are being hailed as 'heroes' by far-right Israelis including multiple Cabinet ministers—and panel discussions including one in which a journalist called for 'institutionalized' rape of Palestinian prisoners. This, as Israeli leaders demanded an investigation of the rape video to find and punish whoever leaked the footage, and as Israeli lawmakers argue that it's permissible to rape Palestinian prisoners."

-->Any story that reveals the state supported war crimes of the Israeli government is bound to be censured in the US media. Let's face it, our media is often just propaganda when it comes to Israel.

The Guardian UK:
"The US rugby sevens player Ariana Ramsey will leave Paris with more than just a bronze medal. After discovering the Olympic Village provides not only free food to athletes but also a suite of free healthcare options, she will be heading home having completed a pap smear and a free eye and dental exam. She even snagged a free pair of prescription glasses. To quote her now-viral TikTok video, 'Like, what?'

The Olympic Village – where athletes reside during the Games – began offering free medical care in 1932, according to Sports Illustrated. SI also reported that the village offers cardiology, orthopedics, physiotherapy, psychology and podiatry, with dermatology also being offered to Paralympic athletes, who arrive next week.

In the US, healthcare is covered by private insurance that often requires customers to pay out of pocket until a deductible is reached, as well as copays and co-insurance costs, with extra fees incurred if a doctor is out of network. These expenses frequently make even basic healthcare such as gynaecology check-ups prohibitively expensive, and Ramsey has spent the last week chronicling her experience with free healthcare on TikTok."

-->The amazing story of free healthcare! Amazing to Americans since we can't conceive of something like universal healthcare. We are the only developed country in the world that doesn't have it. So it's especially important that this story be covered up. We spend close to 900 billion on wars around the globe, all money we could be spending on free education, healthcare, daycare, and nursing homes.

Dropsitenews:
"Microsoft Encourages Employee Donations to Illegal West Bank Settlements, While Barring UNRWA. Employees are petitioning the tech company to stop matching contributions to groups with an active role in the occupation, including one that provides support to the Israeli military.

Microsoft includes a number organizations based in illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, including at least one that fundraises to support the Israeli military, in its employee charitable giving platform. Yet the company has delisted the UN agency providing relief in Gaza, according to Microsoft employees petitioning the company internally to change its policy. The listing of the charities on the expansive platform means Microsoft will automatically match contributions.

Last week, a group of Microsoft employees began circulating a petition calling on the company to cease matching contributions to three organizations, the Ma'aleh Adumim Foundation, Ein Prat Academy for Leadership, and the Megilot Dead Sea Rescue Team, which they say 'are in direct violation of international law,' citing the Geneva Conventions."

-->Major US corporations are aiding apartheid and genocide. So it is important to the empire that these stories not be covered.
