Ihave a custom board based on E18-MS1-IPX (datasheet) and a programming adapter based on the circuit in chapter 4 of the datasheet. When using cc-tool (OSX), I am able to show the target and board info, read eeprom data and seemingly write a hex file.

I'm also not sure about the module, I was reflowing it several times until soldered properly, so I might have destroyed it - looks intact to me though and it responds to some commands, so should not be dead, or?
Do you have a spare CC2530 to perform a swap? It would quickly tell if the original device was damaged because these devices cannot survive multiple reflows due to the inherent nature of the packaging.
What are the contents of your DBGLOCK and PAGELOCK bits? It appears that the debugger and/or flash pages may have been locked, in which case a mass erase must be performed to recover the device. Please refer to Section 3.4.1 of the CC253x/4x User's Guide.
thank you for the answers! I finally managed to program and verify the code, it was probably my dodgy adapter... when I used the Windows Flash Programmer and disconnected the target board from 3V3, it went well.
I looked into cc-tool a bit, I may end up with a patch series for it that gets rid of the boost dependency and makes it easier and quicker to build. (it should ship with ./configure script pregenerated IMHO)
