ALA-LC Sindhi Romanization Table

Dear colleagues,

 

The ALA-LC Romanization Tables Review Board is very pleased to report that it has officially approved the proposal for the Sindhi Romanization Table revision.  The proposal was submitted by Niaz Hussain, Library of Congress Overseas Office, Islamabad. The revision will enable the accurate representation and differentiation of the two characters ghain and ghāf/ghay in the Sindhi Romanization table.

 

 The Board would like to express its sincere thanks to the following Review Subcommittee members: Niaz Hussain, Library of Congress Overseas Office, Shoukat Chachar, Sindhi Language Authority, Manan Ahmed, Associate Professor, Columbia University, Robert L. Maxwell, Brigham Young University (co-chair), and Iman Dagher, UCLA (co-chair).

 

The approved table has been posted on the ALA-LC Romanization Tables website.
