Question regarding unicode honorifics

Hello!

An English-language book a colleague and I are cataloging has a subtitle in Arabic which includes the honorific ligature for "Peace be upon her". When romanizing in Connexion, is the standard practice to use the abbreviation (AS) or ع , to type out the full phrase, to copy the unicode character over, or something else?

In OCLC Connexion, honorific ligatures are typically expanded and romanized rather than copied as Unicode characters or abbreviated (e.g., "AS"). For عليها السلام, the standard practice is to romanize the full phrase as ʻalayhā al-salām. In vernacular fields (e.g., 880), the original ligature may be retained as it appears on the source.
