Archival & Cataloguing Internship (12–15 hrs/week – paid) | 12 weeks

The Institute for Palestine Studies–USA is seeking three passionate and detail-oriented interns to assist with a special archival and cataloging project. Interns will work closely with IPS staff to help preserve, organize, and document rare and valuable Palestinian collections and publications.

Candidates should be current undergraduate or graduate students in history, library/archival studies, political science, Middle East studies, or related fields. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply. This is an onsite opportunity with tasks based in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Basic knowledge of Palestinian history and culture
  • Interest in archival preservation and documentation

 

Preferred Skills

  • Coursework or experience in archival studies, library science, or Palestine Studies
  • Familiarity with cataloging systems and/or digitization practices
  • Comfort handling historical materials and entering metadata

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Assist in cataloguing and documenting IPS archival collections
  • Support organization and preservation of historical Palestinian documents and publications
  • Prepare metadata and classification for digital and physical collections
  • Contribute to building a user-friendly reference system for future researchers

 

Stipend: $1200

Duration: September 23, 2025 – December 13th, 2025
