This a reminder that the Committee on Cataloging will be hosting the last installment of its workshop series on cataloging non-book materials. The fourth workshop will cover an introduction to cataloging electronic resources using RDA standards and the MARC21 format. This workshop provides an introductory overview of cataloging electronic resources using RDA (Resource Description and Access) standards and the MARC21 format. It covers cataloging electronic resource formats such as electronic books, electronic journals, streaming media, electronic collections, websites, and databases. The workshop focuses on addressing the challenges and various aspects specific to cataloging electronic resources. Attendees are advised to have a fundamental understanding of cataloging using the MARC21 format to benefit fully from the workshop.
Presenter: Cyrus F. Zarganj, Special Formats Catalog Librarian/Associate Professor, University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries. Cyrus has worked in cataloging, media, and technical services for over 22 years. He performs original descriptive and subject cataloging for all special formats materials. He also provides training and mentoring to junior catalogers and assists in resolving complex special format cataloging problems.
