PerAppointment of political treasurers (N.C.G.S. 163-278.7(f)), every treasurer of a political committee shall participate in training as to the duties of the office within three months of appointment and at least once every four years thereafter. The State Board of Elections shall provide the training as to the duties of the office in person, through regional seminars, and through interactive electronic means. The treasurer may designate an assistant treasurer to participate in the training if one is named under subdivision (b)(9) of this section. The treasurer may choose to participate in training prior to each election in which the political committee is involved. All such training shall be free of charge to the treasurer and assistant treasurer.

Officers of Federal Committees that register with the North Carolina State Board of Elections are not required to complete the compliance training. Please contact the State Board of Elections at campaign....@ncsbe.gov for information about the requirements for Federal Committees registered with the FEC that may need to also register with our office.

Training is generally guided by the requirements of your role, as directed by your business office or manager. Financial training provides faculty and staff with the opportunity to acquire the tools and skills to fulfill their financial responsibilities accurately and efficiently. Offerings are designed to train University faculty and staff who work with financial systems and provide training in administrative information systems, including electronic forms and documents, as well as providing an understanding of and appreciation for fiscal responsibilities.


All instructor-led, hands-on application training sessions being delivered by the Financial Training Department (FTD) are being conducted in person. Individuals who register for a class will receive an email from the instructor the day prior to the class with instructions specific to that class.


The Financial Training Department prepares user guides, quick reference guides, and more for a wide variety of systems, including BEN Financials, Concur, the Penn Marketplace, Payroll Reallocation, and BEN Deposits.


Starting April 25, 2024 - Procurement & Contract Services will no longer mandate requisition entry training to gain access to Banner procurement screens located within the finance module. Instead, each university will be responsible for granting access to individuals who require it for their duties.


OFA offers weekly training and discussion to familiarize financial managers with the use of TOAD. The sessions emphasize the use of TOAD to explore data, create and modify queries, and customize outcomes to fit the needs of the analysis.


The Special Education Finance Section will host monthly calls on hot topics the first Tuesday of each month from 9:00-10:00. Each session will be recorded and posted on the table below along with the power point.
