Hi all,

After the MAT afternoon mtg on Wed, I added a line of instruction about working with one petition sheet at a time.  Circulators would probably have one against Walker and one against Kleefisch on their clipboards.  I was asked to send it to all, so here it is copied below and attached.  I did have three staffers at the Wisdems office look at it and they have approved it.

On Wed evening, I had an opportunity to do about a 20 minute training with about 10 Raging Grannies after our rehearsal.  There are some things (like making corrections with only a single line, helping signers know which info goes in which column on the petition sheet, etc) that are best done orally.  Like any group there was some discussion and questions, so I don't think training can usually be done in less than 15-20 minutes.   I am confident that this half sheet is a good reminder of what to cover and gives volunteers specific info in writing.

Peace and joy and determination,
Rebecca

**********************************************************

Signers must be 18 or older, eligible to vote in Wisconsin (ID not required), not a felon "on paper" or legally incompetent, must use a real place (not a P.O.Box) as their address.  Any petitions signed before Nov. 15 don't count, so sign again.

Circulators must be 18 or older, eligible to vote in the U.S., not a felon "on paper" or legally incompetent & need brief training to know what will invalidate petitions.

Circulators may not tamper with signatures on the petition, but may help correct or make legible the municipality, date or contact information.  Corrections should be initialed.  To clarify municipality, ask where the signer votes or where they pay property taxes.  Circulators should sign and date the bottom of the petition only after all signers are done.  Petitions may be turned in with fewer than all ten signer lines done, but each signer line must be complete.   Do not ask anyone to sign a petition to recall Lt. Gov. Kleefisch until they have finished signing against Walker.  Work with one petition sheet at a time; keep all other sheets out of sight.   Return petitions to your district co-captain or our Middleton petition coordinators below.  Do not hold on to partially completed petitions.  Turn them in ASAP.    Thank you!
