Beware ice pooling at Mary Hogan Drive where storm water collects, use crosswalk flags where they exist and favor crossings with LED rapid flashing beacon lights to communicate intent to cross. Don't count on distracted and speeding drivers to stop, even with these devices, though they help. Make eye contact with drivers before crossing, especially in large SUVs and trucks where visibility of pedestrians is more challenging. Wait for them to stop.

Been experimenting with adding reflective tape to the orange crosswalk flags for better visibility at dusk, night--thanks to suggestion of an elder on his new etrike.

Laura, the reflective tape on the crosswalk flags is very effective – as observed during a recent drive with a pedestrian crossing in front of me. Thank you!

glad. it's imperfect as the tape doesn't hold for long on the flag and better on the pole so getting there...
