Hi All, 

Thanks to everyone for making last week's gatherings such a great success! I wanted to share the following resource that might appeal to members on these list-serves or constituents you work with. OSU Extension's Living on the Land series addresses topics geographically unique to rural and semi-rural life in Oregon's Coast Range - everything from septic tank maintenance to small woodland management. Classes start THIS Wednesday or folks can attend one-off sessions. See below and attached for more details and RSVP info. 


Hosted by OSU Extension Service Lincoln & Tillamook Counties, this five part workshop series is tailored for small acreage landowners and rural residents wanting to assess and conserve resources and understand practical approaches to common management challenges unique to Oregon's Coast Range. RSVP ONLINE FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES OR INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS TODAY!
 
Wednesday evenings 5:30 to 8 PM, from September 25 to October 24 hosted at the Gleneden Beach Fire Station, 6445 Gleneden Beach Loop, topics include: 

  • Week 1, September 25: Land Stewardship Planning and Soils – Pami Monnette &  Victoria Binning, OSU Extension Agriculture Faculty; Annie Young Matthews, NRCS District Conservationist
  • Week 2, October 2: Water Rights & Wells – Nikki Hendricks, Oregon Department Water Resources; Chrissy Lucas, OSU Extension Well Water Specialist
  • Week 3, October 9: Pasture, Manure & Mud Management – Troy Downing, Dairy/Agriculture Faculty with OSU Extension  
  • Week 4, October 16: Small Livestock  & Weed Management – Sarah & Randy Walker, Walker Farms and Pami Monnette, Agriculture Faculty with OSU Extension
  • Week 5, October 23: Riparian & Woodland Management  – Emily-Bell Dinan, Lincoln SWCD and Dan Stark, Forestry Faculty with OSU Extension

Entire series registration $35.00 per person, individual workshops $10 registration fee per person - Registration is required prior to workshop.
