Hello!
One more email before I depart for the weekend. I’ve tried to distill down feedback from partners and the Coordinating Committee collected via conversations, survey results, and meetings regarding consensus criteria. See attached for a first cut along with the raw survey results.
Please note, this is a DRAFT and has not been reviewed by the Coordinating Committee, so you’re getting a sneak peek (lucky you) - it still may change. Regardless, we need something to help us guide our deliberations on Monday. Please take a look if you have time (and feel free to send me thoughts).
As you can see, we still have a lot of different (and sometimes competing) perspectives represented in the Partnership, which could make achieving consensus difficult. If we are going to be successful as a group we have to acknowledge that tension and then find productive ways to move forward together.
As people who really, really care about instream issues and who currently lead or will be leading meaningful instream work in the Mid-Coast region, I hope you will all help us create an atmosphere and set a tone that lays the groundwork for continued and future cooperation around these issues. I think we all recognize that it is going to require significant concerted efforts to make the change we want to see. Perhaps one of our biggest challenges is agreeing to the issues that we want to put our collective energy behind. Many of us initiated or joined the Partnership with the overriding belief that we can achieve more if we work together. Working together isn’t always easy, but that’s what we’ve signed on for.
Have a restful weekend. I look forward to rolling up our sleeves on Monday! Don’t forget your cup!!!!
All the best,
Harmony
