Hello Self-Supplied Working group Members,

I just wanted to follow up from our last meeting and let you know that our meetings November 13th, November 26th & December 11th from 1-4pm are going to be taking place in one of the downstairs OSU Extension Lincoln County Conference Rooms. Room availability fluctuates so we may not be in the same conference room every time but there are only 3 conference rooms on that floor and I will put a sign outside of whichever room we get for that meeting.

For those of you who need the address here it is:

OSU Extension Lincoln County

1211 SE Bay Blvd

Newport, OR 97365

541-574-6534

Just as a reminder here is the to-do list to complete before our next meeting:

  1. Provide feedback to Alan on draft Issue #3 by November 8.
  2. Paul, Alan and Nicki will transfer our # 1, 2 & 3 Issues into the Problem Statement template, which we fondly call a PIG. The template for the “PIGS” is attached to this email if you do not have one already.
  3. Each Work Group member will draft a PIG for Issue #4.
  4. Recall that the Learning Issues are: Learning Issue #1: Water Quality, Learning Issue #2: Conservation, Learning Issue #3: Vulnerabilities, Learning Issue #4: Infrastructure -- To be drafted!
  5. Please come to the next meeting with ideas for guest speakers and contact information for that guest speaker so we can start to create a line up for the January Partnership Meeting. I have secured the Toledo Fire Hall as the venue for the January Partnership Meeting and the date is January 9th the timeframe is not set yet it will either be from 4-7pm or from 4-8pm so stay tuned on that.

Let me know if you have any questions. See you all at our next meeting!

Best,

Alexandria

Punting a bit on #4: Infrastructure.

I think you'll see my point, but they way I put it evades succinct summary or specific solutions.  Our solutions may rely heavily on stewardship outreach partnered with OSU Extension's well stewardship activities and general resources like Ready.Gov/, as well as local well and construction contractors.  --A
