Hi Alan,

I have reviewed your Focus Issue #3 draft. It is well-written and I don’t have any comments other than to wonder if we define what we mean by Self-Supplied Water User in another context.

I’d also like to explore tapping into existing communication pathways that people use to prepare for emergencies such as Ready.gov as a segway to self-supply water mitigation/conservation. This past September focus on emergency preparedness made me wonder how we might tap into these efforts as a way to communicate with rural residents about self-supply water vulnerabilities.

See you on November 13.

Thanks, Jo!

I think using the emergency preparedness tools across government scales is potentially a great way to incorporate education and outreach across all our Focus Issues.  I'd be curious how we think Ready.gov is being used by our constituents and others, and what kind of content would be appropriate there.  I also wonder how much "message fatigue," if any, folks are experiencing through various media and if anything is lost by couching resources and information through that route.

Good Ideas,

--Alan
