Subject: OHA Drinking Water Source Protection Grants - Deadline March 9, 2018
Hello All,
Mary Camarata filled me in about the meeting last night and mentioned some discussion of encouraging midcoast water systems to apply for OHA drinking water source protection grants for projects that intersect with the Place-Based Planning effort in the region. Attached is the “Letter of Interest” (LOI) application for these grants. The money cannot be used for infrastructure, to meet regulatory requirements, or to carry out work that is part of the maintenance and operation of a water system. Education and outreach, planning and watershed analysis, pollution prevention, on-the-ground projects to reduce water pollution, additional monitoring over and above requirements and many other project ideas would be eligible.
Please feel free to forward this to any additional water systems that may be interested in the grants. Unfortunately, I do not have e-mails for everyone! Call with any questions. I am not a reviewer of submittals, so I am able to provide technical assistance to water systems and partners interested in applying.
Sincerely,
Jacquie
