Thanks Owen,

I enjoyed showing off Willamette Mission State Park to other naturalists.

Here are some additional photos. One of my favorite wildlife encounters there are the huge colony of ground squirrels. This time of year there are many youngsters and they're all outrageously cute. There was a family of Purple Finches at the campsite and I captured the dad feeding one of the fledglings. Red-breasted Sapsuckers were fly catching. Along the path along the Willamette River there were River Jewelwings (female pictured).

I camped there from Thursday to Sunday because there is a hiker-biker campsite there. I rode from Corvallis mostly through back roads and residential street when in Salem. About 48 miles one way and takes 5 hours. Thursday's trip was considerably longer due to a head wind. In the not too distant future, I plan to put together a video of the bicycle trip as well as birds and wildlife at the park.
