Hi everyone, I am away for the rest of the month during the swift migration, so if/when you observe swifts roosting in the Albany Corvallis area, and are so inclined, please submit your observations to Larry Schwitters via Vaux Happening.

The website has all kinds of wonderful information about Vaux's Swift migration, including how to count. I don't have time to describe the process now, but it's pretty easy to count by tens, especially with a clicker counter, as they are going into a chimney or even utilizing a tree.

I'm really sorry to miss the Swift migration this year, because I've been enjoying counting for as long as I've been in Corvallis.

If you just want to enjoy watching the phenomenon without actually counting, it would be helpful to Larry just to know what chimney they were using, and an approximation of the numbers, in other words in the tens, in the hundreds, etc.

Happy fall migration!
