Vaux's Swifts at the Whiteside Theater in Corvallis

Hi all, tonight I counted 3010+ Vaux’s Swifts go in to the chimney about 15 minutes past sunset. That’s probably just about capacity for this location, because there were still several dozen flying around after the main group went in. After a few minutes one or two came by and were able to enter, but it looked like up to a couple dozen had to go elsewhere for the night. Fortunately there are plenty of chimneys in Corvallis.

Happy fall migration! So glad the smoke haze has cleared up, for now, and hope it stays away for the rest of the season.
