I just rec'd a 'private message' from someone named Robert Baker that looks as if it might have been generated through the Mid-Valley Nature Group site. It contains a copy of one of my entries from Oct2020 and asked me why it was 'pinned'. Although the subject line refers to it as a 'private message', there is no other indication of it's origin and no other reference to our MVN io group. The source is a personal gmail address.
I'm not comfortable with responding to the inquiry directly, without evidence that it is from a legitimate group member. This just is pricking my spam/phishing paranoia. I haven't noticed any other MVN entries from a Robert Baker.
I have rec'd messages directly from members before, but have always recognized them from the group and they've always been related to a current thread - not something from five years back.
If this is a legitimate question from one of the members - the answer is that I have no idea. I'm not familiar enough with the workings of the platform to know what 'pinned' is used for or how to do it. When I go directly to the ioGroup page I do see an icon of a push pin in the options, but don't know what it does. If it's a problem with the workings of the site, please address it to a moderator.
If you (Robert B) have a question regarding the content of the specific entry, please let me know who you are and what the nature of your inquiry is.
Thanks all
