I've had this lone female Wild Turkey hanging out around my house in NW Corvallis for some time now. She hasn't brought any friends or relatives.
She just wanders around the neighborhood by herself, graving for bugs and getting seed from underneath bird feeders. I don't know if she's lost, exiled or what.
Anyone else have an experience like this?

Turkeys wander in my neighborhood too (South Salem).  Four were in my yard Thursday.  They ate the seed pods of some milkweed plants, and left my cat in a state of amazement.  I've seen as many as 13 turkeys together  during Nov-Jan.   They seem to break up into smaller groups after that, and regroup again in late fall/early winter.  There were several times during spring when I only saw 1 or 2 turkeys.    Theresa
