Hi all,

Yesterday a friend & I walked to OSU path between 35th and 53rd Streets in Corvallis at around 10:30 am. My friend, who knows birds better than I do, heard a couple western meadowlarks calling at the east side of the alpaca pasture. We saw a couple birds that were about the right size in the small trees along the fence line, but we couldn't get a good look at them (no binocs and the sun was behind them). Might be worth checking this area if you are interested in seeing meadowlarks.

Cheers,
Bill

Thanks for observation Bill,

The Campus Way bike path is a regular spot for Western Meadowlarks in winter. It doesn't seem to be a nesting area for them. Last weekend, Lisa and I rode by there, hoping to find meadowlarks, but didn't encounter any. But I'm pretty sure that meadowlarks are what you encountered.
