While doing a monthly bird survey this morning on private land just north of
the north unit of Luckiamute State Natural Area, I saw a Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher foraging in a hedgerow with sparrows. It was gray above and
pale below with no trace of yellow or green anywhere on the slender body.
The eye-ring was strong, no wing bars, and it had a pale thin bill. The
tail was longer in proportion to rest of body than a kinglet or vireo. I
may have seen white outer tail feathers but couldn't confirm that before it
flew away. No photo.
