Thanks for this! I get so caught up in the ongoing, well, I don’t really know what to call it, that it’s good to be reminded that there is nature and life going on all around us. In that vein, a neighbor sent me some videos from the trail-cam installed on their deck. I had NO idea that there were foxes running around in our back yards! So thrilling. Raccoons too. I have never seen either species in the 21 years I have lived here. Sometimes my cat is looking out the back window and meowing—I used to think it was a neighborhood cat walking by that he sees, but maybe it’s the wildlife!

Happy fall!

Mary

Thanks for that good news Adrienne.  I love BirdCast.  When it seemed like there were so few birds arriving here this past spring, I compared BirdCast Migration Dashboard Total Birds Crossed graphs for a state in each of the four Bird Migration Flyways to see how migration was going in other parts of North America (graphs attached).  BirdCast confirmed that the total number of birds crossed for Oregon during the Spring 2025 migration was about 1/2 the historic average.  I was relieved, though, to see that bird migration numbers were "normal" for the Central and Mississippi flyways, and above average for the Atlantic Flyway.
