Here is a recipe I made up for home made suet.  It was published in the Statesman Journal in 2015

https://www.statesmanjournal.com/story/life/2015/11/19/make-suet-cakes-home-feed-birds-through-winter/75850124/

I no longer use commercial peanut butter preferring to grind my own from roasted peanuts. Winco
has a do it yourself peanut grinder back in the bulk food section.

The chicken scratch meal is from Wilco. I think it makes this a more  balanced diet.

Winco has the lard, shelled sunflower seed, coarse cornmeal (polenta), baking parchment.

I no longer eat whole eggs so the calcium source is finely ground Tums antacid which is calcium carbonate.

I quit using millet.

You can vary the recipe according to your preferences.

I make up two batches, chill it in the fridge, cut it up into pie shaped wedges, freeze it and put it out in
two feeders. One is nailed to a tree for all birds.

The other is in a cage to keep starlings out.
