Another giant earthworm

I got this email from Judy and Roland de Szoeke:

Hi Don and Lisa,

Can you help us ID the creature in the attached photo? It was taken on the Vineyard Mountain trail about halfway up near a trail junction by a huge old Doug Fir.

It is animate, because it moved when Roland poked it. The visible portion is about a foot long but the lower end was still underground.

Is it just a giant earthworm? iNaturalist was not much help!

Neat! That does look like one of the large, native Megascolecid earthworms.
