Dear MMT,

For a long time I have thought that a crucial piece in the spread of
microtonality would be some sort of embeddable web applet that would
allow you to immediately hear a scale or chord referenced on a page.

I see posts made like these ones: (http://oddmusicuc.wordpress.com/
2009/06/23/composers-living-room-compose-in-able/) and (http://
xenharmonic.wikispaces.com/HarmonicIntervalsIn23edo) and just think,
things are getting held back because we're still stuck with un-
interactive tables and numbers when we try to explain our little
devlish tuning thoughts.

I don't know the best platform for something like this, and have about
zero internet coding experience, but this is something worth learning
it for. It needs to happen. This year.

My instinct says to do it in Flash - it seems that there's now a
practice of hacking flash to do realtime audio synthesis, take a look
at http://joeberkovitz.com/blog/2009/05/15/standingwave-open-source-as3-audio/

Thoughts?
Jacob

You can do this nowadays using javascript and embedded data URI's.
I'll work on it now.
