Hi Russ,
Hello! Happy to meet you.
I saw this email come in to the microtonality google group. That
reminded me that a few years ago, March 2005, when I saw another email
come in on this same mysterious group from Stevie H. who I think plays
in Igliashon's heavy metal 22tET band on occasion.
Both emails caused me to say to myself, "That's weird, I didn't know I
was a member of such a group." I also wondered who was in charge of
this strange and mysterious group. Last time though, I couldn't figure
out if I had a google account or what not, what the password might be,
so I could not figure out more about this strange mystery such as who
the members might be or how to respond. There was no response by
anyone to the ghostly inquiry from 2005.
But just now upon discovering this new message from you, I was able to
get google to set me up with a new password so I could sign in and see
what the details of this group were.
And I discovered, just now, that this group appears to have been
founded by myself in 2004!?!
Gosh!
That's weird. What the heck!
This is just like that dream where I show up at school for final exams
and I forgot there were exams and I forgot I was even enrolled in
classes and on top of that I am not wearing any pants.
Well as for me I fiddle with all sorts of categories, JI, extended JI,
rational intonation, ETs of all sorts, NJNE, spectral, formed using
whatever methods seem interesting at the time. The octave is not a
requirement. I've released a few xenharmonic CDs over the years. I
work mostly with electronic instruments and soft synths, though I also
have some homemade acoustic instruments.
