I'm looking for some microtonal fingerings for flute & saxophone (alto), specifically those that have more accurate notation than just vaguely a quarter-tone. Does anyone know of any fingering charts out there that are notated down to the 1/12 tone (Ezra Sims, for example) or just intonation?

I've been looking at Ferneyhough's Unity Capsule score for flute fingerings, which is helpful. But sax is a trickier thing to come by. Thanks,

Andrew

Dear Andrew,

I know Dr. Donald Bousted, UK has experience with microtonal fingerings for
recorder.
You may try to communicate with him:

Just an update here, for everyone. This is exactly what I'm looking for: http://www.plainsound.org/pdfs/JustMajorThirds_US-Letter.pdf

I'm actually using the Helmholtz-Ellis notation to notate these pitches, so this sort of thing is great. For anyone who hasn't heard von Schweinitz's music, a bunch of it is online at plainsound.org. Plainsound Symphony is a pretty remarkable example of how you get a full orchestra to play in just intonation.

The following link has accurate microtonal fingerings for the flute:
http://www.phys.unsw.edu.au/music/flute/virtual/main.html
This university department is working on a similar site for a virtual
clarinet and then, possibly, a virtual saxophone.

On the xenharmonic wiki, there are several links for microtonal
playing on woodwinds, Namely saxophone, clarinet, bassoon, recorder -
not flute, however.
