Sounds like a similar problem I experienced with a P4 MB; I had a cheapo
fan/heatsink on the CPU, and one side had broken - thus little contact
from the CPU to the heatsink. I had similar issues to yours; the PC would
run fine for days, but as soon as I tried to do anything processor
intensive (like video, or burning a DVD) it would shut down.
