HyperDeck supports the most popular codecs in use today! All models include DNx and ProRes file formats. However all models also include H.264 in quality levels up to full 10 bit 4:2:2 when recording in NTSC, PAL, 720p, 1080p and true 1080i interlaced formats. While the 4K model adds H.265 when recording in Ultra HD. That means you get tight 60:1 to 285:1 compression ratios for very small files at full broadcast quality. Plus you can choose uncompressed PCM audio, or even AAC audio when uploading files to YouTube. All models support both ExFAT and HFS+ disk formats and long duration single file recordings. The open-back Sennheiser have better audio reproduction and will be more open-sounding than the HyperX, but some may feel like they are a bit lacking in sub-bass. The mic of the Sennheiser also offers a better recording quality. On the other hand, the HyperX has channel mixing when used via USB and are comfortable and better-built. They are also more versatile, as their closed-back design blocks more ambient noise and you can fully detach their microphone for a more outdoor-friendly look.
I have been a user of the original Townsend Sphere for several years now. I own three and will be getting a fourth soon. Why? Because this microphone and its attached software change the game of recording completely. The ability to access a comprehensive collection of microphones that accurately portray the signature of the microphones modelled is unquestionably a first in our industry. I have been a recording engineer for over 45 years and have worked in the big professional rooms around the World, places with mic lockers that are representations of this great collection. Is the Townsend able to emulate them successfully? My word it does. Given that EVERY microphone and particularly vintage mics each have their own unique 'voice' the Sphere L22 is able to give a faithful representation of the microphone it is modelling and an accurate rendition of the signature of each one. Add to the standard software collect by getting the 2 available extension packs and you are in a World of heaven. I could go far more into detail of the other aspects of post production control, environment controls and the rather amazing IsoSphere feature but that would take too damn long to write. :-) Suffice it to say, this microphone delivers what it says it can.
MainStage features MIDI-out support. That means everything you need perform is right on your Mac, giving you total control. Each Patch works as a self-contained audio mixer and router, so you can have total control over each sound. One minute you can be playing heavily distorted guitar with a full backing band. And the next you can be creating bass loops with an external synth against an Ultrabeat drum pattern.
Read the license agreement and hit Agree to continue installation. Wait a few seconds while the files are being copied. If everything is OK, you will get the message that Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack was installed successfully. After closing this notification window, you will see VirtualBox Extension pack in the list of extension packages.
Read and accept the license agreement. Then enter your password to continue installation and wait for a few seconds while VirtualBox Extension Pack is being installed on your mac. After finishing installation, you should see the notification message: Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack was installed successfully. Hit OK and look for your VirtualBox extension pack in the list of installed extension packages.
