problems with Norwegian chars (ø,æ and å)

Hallo, I am moving my first steps into XSL transformation.
To my big surprise, the MS XSL transformer stumbles into
the norwegian chars (ø,æ and å) and fails loudly.
Am I missing something or is it a ridicolous situation
after so much unicode international support shit they have been
giving us?
