Problem with early timeout using mxxlml2.serverxmlhttp

Trying to set the server timeout for my Post call using msxml2.serverxmlhttp
tried versions 3 and 6
using .settimeouts
Seems to work on Vista and XP. On Server 2003 Enterprise sp2 as client, if .settimeouts < 15 minutes, the timeout is enforced.
IF I set .settimeouts > 15 minutes, I get a timeout at 15 minutes.
Suggestions?
