Hello,

Yesterday I purchaced the Microsoft's official VGA HD AV CABLE to connect my
Xbox360 with my PC-Monitor (19'' TFT monitor supporting resolutions up to
1280x1024).

Unfortunately, I discovered the colors were too washed-out. I tried using
the cable with another monitor *another one TFT and a CRT* and the results
were exactly the same. It seems that the Xbox360 VGA output lacks of contrast
and right brightness.
Because I wanted to be sure I don't have a defected cable, I purchased
another one and, no surprise, I had the same problem.
All my settings are correct, using the rights resolutions, and using the
patch that gives more resolutions to VGA Cable.

After searching over the Internet I found the problem really exists and many
Xbox360 owners facing the same bug with their MS VGA HD AV CABLE.

So, my agonizing question is when MS will release a patch that corrects this
very annoying problem?

You must know that I purchaced Xbox360 to use it with my PC-monitor so I can
enjoy high-definition/high-resolution graphics (not every people can afford
the price of a HD-Ready TV).
This VGA bug ruins all this experience.

I'm waiting for your answers.

Thank you.

You've tried adjusting the monitors right? With the Dell 2405FPW you have
to press the minus button to get brightness and contrast controls, they're
not listed under the normal menu.

I've tried everything on my 3 monitors :)
I know how to adjust my settings.

The Dell screenshot is not mine.

In terms of quality and detail of course the VGA screenshot looks better.
That's why after all I want to use the VGA connection!

But the colors produced by VGA output are terrible, can't you notice it?
And this is a problem well-known on many xbox360 forums.

the VGA res is scaled this is probably the reason for the washed out color.

is scaled two times ,the first form the xbox (from 1280*720 to 1388) and the
second from the Dell(1388 to monitor matrix resolution)

That's wrong.
First of all I said I tested with 3 different monitors (no Dell)
2 TFT 19'' at 1280x1024 and 1 CRT 17'' at 1024x768.

Also, I set the resolution of xbox360 to 1280x720 (no scaling at all) and the
problem was there too.
Do you have the cable or you're talking in theory?
