inside. Now we all know what's inside but that is top

I am an Australian and I am Proud to be. I waited till after the XBOX
dropped in price for many reasons. One of which was because the timing of
the launch was wrong for me, Just like many others I had Bills bills and
more bills to be paid. I have a now 6 yr old Son and his 1st year Schooling
fees were unbelievably high. And this was part of the reason for my wait.
I have been waiting and waiting for this machine to come out, And people
like yourself degrade us and others outside your country by telling us that
we are not worthy of a purchase such as this.
We didn't give a Ratz? Where do you get off? Just because you agreed to pay
the full price and we didn't you feel that we didn't care for this unit?.
You say that you support the XBOX in getting it off the ground yet you
whinge about these changes to the pricing which will allow many others that
before could not afford the unit to purchase one.
If these prices did not happed then you would be denying all these people
that will now buy an XBOX of their purchase. Now who is still supporting

Since buying my XBOX I have joined many News Forums to try and get the best
out of my purchase and all I have encountered is the BIGGEST pack of

Much is the same attitude with the Aus Forums. Here we see that the Aus and
Europe Xbox's can not be connected to HDTV capable sets. It was disabled at
production.
If these Australians are so upset about all the complaints they have then
bring the bloody thing back for a refund, Which they are entitled to do
under our LAW of False Advertising. MS does advertise that the Unit is HDTV
capable yet it clearly is not.
When is everyone going to use these forums for actually discussing XBOX
relates issues and not whinging about how badly they think they have been
cheated?

beginning as the most powerful gaming system ever, your
goal should be to see that it's strengths have been taken
full advantage of by the game developers/publishers and
work to put an end to what appears as a current trend of
simply porting games. Your concern should be more about
achieving the total gaming experience and countless hours
of superior entertainment you bought into when you plunked
down your $300.
I personally think time is coming when the
developers/publishers can't afford not to utilize the
XBOX's strengths because they've entered the arena and are
now in direct competition with Microsoft.

ps2 has a lot of killer title compared to other

1. They sold for a set price. We bought it. We didn't get ripped off.
2. MS wanted a foot in the European market. Germany has an excellent network
of software developers. MS did business.
3. "Sub-par" is subjective.
4. The controller is large since MS marketed to adults. Plenty of playtime
in any store with a demo gave us all a taste of its handling.
5. Microsoft got the sytem "off the ground." We were the consumers who
fueled it further.
6. MS didn't "screw" any of us. They sold Xbox for $299. We bought it and
enjoyed it. Those who felt "ripped off" at that time (without price drop)
returned their systems and got different consoles, etc. Microsoft delivered
a product for a set price without pie-in-the-sky promises.
7. MS isn't right or wrong. It is a company and Bill Gates is its founding
CEO. He has done good thing for the computer world, and he has done bad
things for the computer world. Right now he's advancing his company into the
console business. Part of that plan is to attract more programmers and
developers who already write consoles to adapt over to PC (Wired magazine).
There is nothing "wrong" with this business strategy.

Wow, I couldn't disagree with you more. Yes, it was the
NORTH AMERICAN market that got the Xbox on it's feet, but
I want more games to be made for the Xbox for years to
come. I don't want to buy a new system in two years. The
more support for this system, the less requirement to come
out with some sort of new and improved system in the near
term. Good strategy Microsoft. I would like to have
payed less too, but it's like that with almost everything
you buy isn't it?
