one Customers XAL (3.55.1 Kernel, SQL-Server) have to run on new Hardware in
the next time.
I would like to use Windows Server 2008 SBS Premium, where it is as far as I
know possible to use the included SQL-Server Standard-Edition in 2005
Version, without downgrading the whole operating system (and using then the
more limited Workgroup Edition, witch was part of Windows Server 2003 R2 SBS
Premium).
Customer is out of maintenance, that's why usage of newer kernel isn't
possible, is it?
Is this configuration recommended? I know its not on "Statement of
DB-compatibility!
Thanks in advance
Detlev
XAL 3.55.1 should run on SQL Server 2005, and if the OS is Windows Server
2008 in 32-bit version, I think that there is a good chance for making it
work.
I would urge you to run a test before upgrading.
