By wireless do you mean there is a wireless connection between your PC
and the printer? Or a wireless connection between your PC and the
Internet? If the latter, it shouldn't affect printing. If the former,
it might.
What version of Windows are you using?
Works is going to want to use your default printer. Make sure that your
desired printer is set as the default to Windows.
