Can letters like ö ä ü or ß be displayed all over the world ?

If the configuration is right, STANDARD configurations will show everywhere
the same ä ë ï ö ü ß as well as éèçàù and so on, because they are part of
the standard Western character set.

However, if you try to read a Mac TEXT file on a PC, or the opposite, you
will see different characters, because the mapping of the accented
characters is different. However, through the Internet, as well as if you
save files with Word or other usual word processor, the characters will
appear normally from platform to platform.

Other character set, such as Russian, may be a lot more challenging than
that, however.
