Manipulating Tab Delimited Text

Hello.

I have a 621 page text file which is a list of names that I want to
manipulate.

The format is Lastname {tab} Firstname {tab} Middleinitial

I would like to remove the middle initial from these names. Not all
the names have a middle initial. About 20% of the name do not have a
middle initial.

The data came from an Excel spreadsheet that I have. In the
spreadsheet the names are listed in a single column as Firstname,
Lastname MI

Does anyone know how I can remove the middle initials?

I can save the data out of the spreadsheet in a different format if
necessary.

Have you tried selecting all your text, converting to a table (at
tabs) and then deleting the MI column? Then just select all and
converting back to text.

You could always delete the column in Excel before sending it to Word
too.
