Hello there

If I copy and paste bitmaps/jpegs in to a word document, then close the
document (with or without saving, it doesn't matter), Word does not
de-allocate the memory. For example, if I paste 50 or so bitmaps of 1MB each
into Word and then close all douments, Word now takes up 50MB of virtual
memory, even though it has no documents open.

Is there any way I can "dump" this memory without closing down Word? Is
there a macro I could run, or any commands in wordbasic that might prove
useful?

Thanks

Joe.

I've come accross something similar, I'd have to see some code to be sure,
but
If you reference an object like Documents.Add instead of
WordApp.Documents.Add
then when you set WordApp = Nothing it would'nt release the Word object.
The same for Excel.
