My laptop pc is a Toshiba T5500 and my printer is a Brother MFC-620CN
directly connected by USB.

Previously I have always used Word 97 and been able to send docs to my
printer without any problems. A while ago when I tried to do this I just got
a very
brief 'Receiving Document' message on my printer screen but then nothing else
happened. Since then I have recently upgraded to MS Word 2003, but it still
won't print out any Word documents.

I need to get Word to printout as I receive a lot of communication in Word
format that I need to make hard copies of and my son uses Word for his
homework at school and needs to print out at home in Word.

My printer still prints out MS Works docs and emails though? Therefore I
assume that the printer driver is fine, so why won't it printout Word
documents?

I would appreciate any advice that is available to resolve this very
frustrating problem.

Many thanks,

Are you sure that you have the same printer selected in Word as the one that
is being used by the other applications.

Another thing to do is to check on the printer manufacturer's web site for
an updated printer driver. Word usually makes pretty full use of a
printer's capabilities (more than the other applications) and it may be
because of this and some incompatibility with the present driver that you
are experiencing that problem.
