Word2003 - addin will not load

In Word I have made a .dot file. This file is stored in the startup
path
The .dot file looks who is logged on, and if this user have some
specific rights an other .dot file will be loaded as an extra addin
from an other location.

This all works fine.
If the user has in Outlook Word as his default emaileditor, then, if
Outlook allready is opened, the .dot file from the startup path will
be loaded but when i try through vba to load an other addin from an
other location, this wont load if outlook is allready opened.
Some one knows how to get a work around for this?
