Hi all, in a macro, I have this line of code which saves a
file :
WordBasic.FileSaveAs Name:=mrgdatfn$, Format:=0,
LockAnnot:=0, Password:=""...What I want to do is this : I
use Word 97, but want to save as Word 95 document. What
Format:=? should I use? (I can't find a table of reference
anywhere...).

TIA!

Jim

Hi Jim,

Try FileFormat = 106. That is the code generated in doing a save as to Word
95 in Word 2K.

HTH and have a great day!

In word 97, I recorded a new macro and I just recorded
a "save as word 95 doc." and the file format number that
came out was 103...tried it, didn't work...Anyhow, thanks!
(but it did not work...)

You want to avoid using the number. The number is the
position that the converter occupies in the drop down
list. As you can see this is dependent on how many and
what converters are loaded

What you want to use is the class name which in this case
is "MSWord6Exp"

The following code will get you all the classnames for all
the fileconverters that "CanSave"

Dim objConv As FileConverter

For Each objConv In Application.FileConverters
With objConv
If .CanSave Then
Debug.Print .FormatName & ": " & .ClassName
End If
End With
Next objConv
