installing a Word Add-In

Hello all,
I have developed (for the first time) an MS Word Add-In in .NET (C#)
(Visual Studio 10)
Everything works fine and when it is built and run from Studio Word
opens with the new command bar, etc... Executing the button associated
with the applications runs fine.
I do run the setup file that is generated but when I open Word from
outside the Visual Studio environment the command bar and the add-in
do not show up.
What am I missing?
