Facebook only allows you to send messages to users when the last contact was max. 24 hours ago. This is an API / Business change with huge impact on advertisers and chatbots.

I'm building a Facebook messenger bot in Python. And everything works fine. But if I send emojis as text from Facebook chat to API, then it goes wrong. This is an example when I send emojis from Facebook.

So the received_message = message['message']['text']. What I want is whenever I send a (emoji) non text message from Facebook, I can scan and encode it before I send it to my API. I have read documents before asking this question but most of them are given emojis from user and not all a scanner and encode any emojis (if I miss something, please correct me because i'm a newbie). Tell me if I need to update my question.

Messages and calls from friends and family using Instagram will stay in your Instagram app. The main change is that people using the Messenger app can now reach you on Instagram without you needing to download a new app, and vice versa. You can also control where you receive messages and calls, such as in your chats, in your message requests or not at all.

Since I connected Facebook messenger to our Zendesk platform, there are sometimes doubled tickets.

For example, I can have a conversation with my user for let's say 5 hours, and then when he replies, it makes an answer in the current ticket, but also creates a new one.

If you are migrating to the Agent Workspace, you need to disable private messaging from your current Facebook integration from your Support admin settings, before you add a Facebook Messenger channel to the Zendesk Agent Workspace.

I do not want PayPal sending my purchase info to Facebook Messenger! I have tried all of the instructions for unlinking PayPal from FB...but they seem to be from 2017 and not working. Has anyone been able to unlink successfully recently.?

I finally figured out how to unlink Facebook from Paypal. In your Paypal account, go to the Gear icon (right next to the Logout in the upper right corner). Then choose Notifications (in the upper horizontal blue menu bar). On that page, you will see where you can uncheck the Facebook Messenger.

Paypal is the most frustrating system I have ever used They have removed the page about unlinking from facebook and the other method ie about bill agreement is nonsense. None of their instruction steps are valid Im so frustrated I my have to just cancel my account.

Click into the conversation and reply, just like any other conversation. The customer will see your reply in Messenger. Further replies from the customer will appear right back in this conversation in Help Scout.

This process is similar for iPhones and Android phones, although the buttons you'll need to press may have slightly different labels. For this guide, we will be using screenshots from an iPhone to provide illustrations.

When testing my bot in FB Messenger, I can type in a message to my page but I do not get a response back from Rasa. However, when I check my Rasa X domain, I can see my chats were logged from Facebook and Rasa is responding to my FB messages in Rasa X.

and select your facebook page, it worked for me doing that and apart from the messages it only works for me when testing it with the same administrator of the page since another user does not respond to me, it seems to me that when you publish it, it can only be used with other users

e.g. FB Messenger Documentation

" The endpoint for receiving Facebook messenger messages is :5005/webhooks/facebook/webhook , replacing the host and port with the appropriate values. This is the URL you should add in the configuration of the webhook."

You might think of social media primarily as a marketing channel. But customers expect to access customer support on the social channels where they follow and interact with brands. No one wants to look up a customer support email address or phone number when they can simply click a message icon to access your team directly from Facebook.

Conversations can come at your from multiple angles on Facebook: Through public comments, mentions, and Messenger DMs. Sometimes one customer might try all three, as well as sending messages on your other social channels.

People can also see on your Messenger profile how quickly you usually respond to messages. A faster average response time helps build confidence and assures customers they can expect to hear from you soon.

Save time building an efficient customer support system on social media with Hootsuite. Respond to questions and complaints, create tickets from social conversations, and work with chatbots all from one dashboard. See it in action.

When I installed Facebook, the messenger plugin was working. I then updated PS (I think from 1.7.7.2 to 1.7.7.4) and it stopped. Several Facebook module updates have come and gone and it hasn't fixed the issue (even turning off the messenger plugin in the module or in Facebook hasn't helped).

More than just a mode of consistent communication, Facebook messenger also gives companies ways to deepen their relationships with clients. Facebook launched Messenger in the Summer of 2011, after acquiring a messaging app named Beluga.

Once again, warnings are being given that internet users may not realise just how much personal information they are sharing with others online - and this time it's about where you spend your life working, playing and sleeping. A newly-released tool lets you easily track the movements of other Facebook users and plot them on a map, by scooping up the location data they have shared in Facebook Messenger chats. Marauder's Map is named after a magical chart from the Harry Potter novels that shows the location of every person in the grounds of Hogwarts School. But the new Marauder's Map is real, not fictional. Initially released by Harvard College computer science student Aran Khanna as a Chrome browser extension, Marauder's Map makes it child's play for anybody to become a stalker - finding out a contact's place of work, where they live, or favourite bars and hang-outs. Marauder's Map scrapes the location data from your Facebook Messenger page, and plots it on a map.

One issue is that you may think it's harmless to attach your location to a single message, but - unless you remember to disable location sharing afterwards - it's all too easy for an archive of your past locations to build up. And, as far as I can tell, there is no way to delete the location data from past messages you have sent. Such creepy collection and examination of location data has clear implications for not just consumers, but also businesses. If your company is being targeted by criminals, they may attempt to learn the schedules of your workers - hoping to launch man-in-the-middle attacks over unsecured WiFi in coffee shops, or determine the home addresses of senior executives. All they would need to do to begin to collect the data is start an online chat with you, perhaps posing as a potential customer or romantic interest. The potential for abuse, whether it be by organised criminal gangs targeting an enterprise, or jealous former partners and obsessive stalkers, should be clear. Which means that consumers and businesses alike should consider disabling Facebook Messenger's ability to track and share your location.

Although it's possible to manually deselect location sharing on individual messages, it's clearly all too easy to forget to do that and Facebook's own help page admits that turning off location sharing only works for the current message, and will be re-enabled when you start a fresh chat. Therefore, my advice would be to stop Facebook Messenger from accessing your location entirely.

I've been using Facebook messenger for several months, and never had this issue, but have almost blown through my limited texting allowance this month, and think it's because Facebook Messenger messages are being counted in the text quota. I almost never send/receive picture/video texts, and this month shows a bunch - I'm thinking the icons in Facebook Messenger are being counted that way. Any ideas or confirmation?

If your messages come into the green message icon then they are texts. If you have FB messenger or receive your messages from the FB app then they are not texts. If you have registered your mobile number with FB you may be receiving text notifications about almost anything that applies to your FB count or things you are tagged in or have commented on. This you must go to FB on your computer to disable.

What is the phone number that is being texted or texts received from? Is it a known phone number or a shortcode? 32665 is used for FBOOK, for texting status updates and leaving comments via text messaging if you don't use the FB app. But you are using the Messaging (Facebook Messenger) app .... I would think it would use data.

Has there been a sudden influx of unusual friend requests sent from your Facebook account? Your account may be under siege. One of the things a hacker may do after gaining access to your account is to try to collect personal information from other users. And this is easier to do when the hacker makes new friends with other users connected to your account.

If you suddenly begin to see unusual messages sent from your Messenger, it could be that a hacker already has access. Such access allows the hacker to send malicious messages to other users from your Messenger.

Despite all the safety features available to Messenger users, hackers constantly strive to find new ways to hack in. Apart from physically stealing your login details, some of the techniques hackers may use to hack your Facebook Messenger include phishing, keylogging, hacking using cookies, or using tracking programs like Spyier or PhoneSpector.
