can't grammer/spelling check French

Hi, my microsoft word can't seem to correct the
spelling/grammer of french. no matter what i type in
french, even if it's a wrong word, no red line will show
up under to word to tell me it's wrong. how can i fix
this? i mean other languages work, say if i select
english canada, and type in the word 'color' a squiggly
red line will show up under it because in canada the word
is spelled as 'colour' sooo.. how come it doesnt work for
french????

Hi Mark,

It always helps if you tell us WHICH VERSION of Word you
have?

Have you installed the French proofing tools? And then
activated the French language over START/Programs/Microsoft
Office/Microsoft Office Tools/Microsoft Office Language
Settings (or something similar)? And then have you selected
the text and applied the French language formatting
(Tools/Language/Set language)?
